Amazon expands presence in Germany
Amazon reported it plans to create more than 2,800 additional permanent jobs in Germany by the end of 2019. In total, the company will employ over 20,000 people nationwide and has more than 35 locations in the country.

The retailer announced plans to open a new (thirteenth) logistics centre in 2019 in Monchengladbach, in order to meet the growing demand in the online shopping space. The company already has 12 fulfillment centers in Germany. Also, Amazon has reached a deal with Germany's anti-trust authority to overhaul its terms of service for third-party merchants, who had complained of unfair treatment when selling through the world's biggest online retailer. Meanwhile, the US lawmakers on the House Judiciary Committee’s antitrust panel pressed an executive from Amazon about allegations that it competed against its own sellers and pushed them to buy advertising and fulfillment services.
