Apple might delay its iPhone 12 launch
A possible postponement to a later date is due to coronavirus pandemic
Stocks impacted: Apple Inc (AAPL)
The launch of Apple's next major iPhone, believed to be called the iPhone 12, could be delayed by one or two months amid disruptions related to the coronavirus pandemic. Apple is worried that people might not be interested to upgrade to the upcoming 5G iPhone amid COVID-19 outbreak. This is obviously bad news for the brand considering the tech giant has always benefitted with the excitement around the launch of a new iPhone. Moreover, this would be the first 5G iPhone - Apple is almost two years behind Samsung and Huawei in launching a 5G phone. In a worst-case scenario, the launch will be shifted to 2021, which will anyway take a toll on the company’s profits. Apple stocks closed 0.55% lower on Wednesday and could suffer losses today on the latest news.
