Dell sells its cybersecurity unit
The deal is expected to close in the next six to nine months
Stocks impacted: Dell Technologies Inc (DELL)
Dell Technologies said it would sell its cybersecurity unit RSA for US$2.08 billion to a consortium led by Symphony Technology Group. RSA specializes in defending computer systems and runs eponymous cyber-security conferences and has more than 12,500 customers. According to Dell chief operating officer Jeff Clarke, the deal will help to further simplify their business and product portfolio. As a reminder, Dell went public more than one year ago, so the decision to sell RSA was not completely unexpected for investors. The deal is expected to close in the next six to nine months. Next week, the 2020 RSA Conference opens in San Francisco. On Tuesday, Dell stocks finished 0.21% lower.
