The company’s stock declined over 1% in the extended trading on Wednesday
Stocks impacted: Microsoft Inc. (MSFT)
Microsoft said it will miss quarterly revenue guidance for its “More Personal Computing” business segment due to the coronavirus outbreak. The segment includes Windows, Xbox, Surface and related businesses. The software maker had previously expected the More Personal Computing unit to post third-quarter revenue between $10.75 billion and $11.15 billion. This segment accounted for about 36% of total revenue and about 30% of operating income in the fiscal second quarter. The remaining elements of the company’s fiscal third-quarter outlook were unchanged. Earlier this month, Apple said that it may not be able to meet its March-quarter sales forecast. Microsoft stock declined over 1% in the extended trading on Wednesday. The company’s shares have lost 4.7% in the past week before the warning.
